Alumni Talks: Willard and ORAI are co-hosting a virtual alumni conversation event in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Residential Colleges this week. To make things even more exciting, three Willardites who register and attend Sanjay's talk will be randomly selected to win one of three vintage merch items:

A Camelbak water bottle featuring the old Frances Willard crest
A grey WILLARD crewneck
A powder-blue hoodie featuring the Wooshack logo

Please register online before 11:59 PM Monday night; those who register will be sent the Zoom link prior to the program. The registration form provides a space for you to add your own questions for Sanjay!

Halloween Door-Decorating: Get in the spooky spirit by decorating your dorm door! Special guest judges will award prizes to their favorite creations! Sign up here!

Trick or Treating: Everyone’s favorite Halloween tradition! Each floor will have an assigned time to trick-or-treat and to hand out candy! Participating rooms will get a sticker on their door so you know whose door to knock on. Please provide your own candy and talk to a member of Willard Exec if you need any assistance in doing so. Sign up here!

Halloween Party: Willard Central is throwing a Halloween Party! Put on your costume and munch on Halloween-themed snacks. Add to the ambiance by submitting your baby-Halloween photos to be projected onto the kitchen TV during the event!

Double-Tea Tuesday: Come sip on your favorite kind of tea (or other hot beverage) while chatting about the latest tea—stressful classes, your newest crush, or something in between—in a totally non-toxic environment. Hot water and a few varieties of tea will be provided, but feel free to bring some to share!

Alumni Talks: This week's event, A Conversation with Sanjay Sood, Chief Technology Officer, CDW on Wed., Oct. 26, @ 7:30 PM CST, will feature a double NU alum who both lived in Willard as a McCormick undergrad and served as Willard's Assistant Chair during his PhD.

Sanjay is excited to discuss his time at NU and his journey to becoming CTO at CDW. Join his talk to learn about:

What Willard was like in the late 90s/early 2000s
His memories of McCormick computer science classes
Choosing to go into a computer science PhD program
Researching search algorithms for NU's Intelligent Information Lab
Choosing between academia and industry
Directing strategy for a self-driving car company
Serving in executive-level positions at AT&T and CDW

NUVotes Fireside: In this event, we'll be filling out our absentee ballots together! Conveniently placed in Willard, you'll be able to go to your mailbox to retrieve your absentee ballot right before the event. If you haven't requested an absentee ballot, we can walk you through the process on how to vote. Also, there will be food!

Just Dance Game Night: Unwind from the week with a collection of your favorite just dance performances (come with song requests in mind if you'd like). No dance skills required!
